Predoctoral Developmental Dentistry Rotation

The University of Louisville School of Dentistry requires that all fourth-year dental students complete a clinical rotation at the Lee Specialty Clinic.

The Pre-Doctoral Developmental Dentistry Rotation program is based at the Lee Specialty Clinic.  This clinical rotation is designed to help students learn techniques and develop the practical skills that can be applied when treating this unique patient population.

The rotation builds on the concepts presented in the prerequisite didactic lecture course, Concepts in Special Patient Care, given in the third year of dental training.  It provides students with an opportunity to experience the unique rewards of treating this extraordinary patient population.  It is not uncommon for dental students to become captivated by these special patients.  On graduation many apply for enrollment in clinical and research externships and in the AEGD residency and mini-residency programs.
