Developmental Dentistry AEGD Residency
This one-year, PGY-1, Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA)-accredited residency program has been developed for dentists who have graduated from a CODA-accredited DMD or DDS predoctoral program, and who wish to obtain additional, focused training in the care of patients with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). An optional second year of residency training is available.
Based at the Lee Specialty Clinic in Louisville, the residency program is operated in collaboration with New York University Langone Medical Center.
Residents are guided and mentored on-site by members of the Lee Specialty Clinic’s experienced faculty. Program curricula are designed to develop the confidence and skills that are necessary in the resident to meet the clinical challenges associated with caring for this medically complex and ethnically diverse patient population, and help them learn to function as an important member of an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
