Developmental Dentistry AHEC Rotation
The Developmental Dentistry AHEC (Area Health Education Center) is an elective, one-month predoctoral immersion program presented by the Lee Specialty Clinic in affiliation with the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. The AHEC rotation gives rising fourth-year dental students an opportunity to work with patients with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), and to build on the knowledge they acquired during their third-year special needs dentistry lecture course.
The University of Louisville School of Dentistry requires that all fourth-year dental students complete a clinical rotation at the Lee Specialty Clinic as part of their requirements for graduation.
