Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (MSNS)

In affiliation with Western Kentucky University’s Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (MSNS) program, the Lee Specialty Clinic offers nurse practitioner students a block rotation in Developmental Psychiatry, focused on adolescent and adult patients with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The rotations are designed to provide the nurse practitioner student with hands-on experience in the provision of psychiatric services to patients with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The student will learn to function as an important member of the interdisciplinary team, working alongside physicians, nurse practitioners, dentists, psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, physical, occupational and speech therapists, and board-certified behavior analysts.

The rotation includes a mixture of clinical, written, and on-line curricula, and the student will participate in weekly Clinical Protocol meetings.
